This campaign expires on December 31, 2021. Repairs must be performed on or before this date to be eligible for payment. Keep this expiration date in mind when scheduling customers for this action. Section B – Repair Procedure
Replace left and right trunk springs:
• Open trunk lid.
• Support trunk lid from falling.
• Replace one spring at a time.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
If the trunk lid is not supported or held open, the lid will fall on its own.
• Pull back carpet on side of luggage compartment.
• Unhook trunk spring <1> from mounting holes <2>.
• Remove trunk spring <1> from hinge <3>.
• Install new spring in reverse order of removal:
o Install spring onto hinge <3> first.
o Install spring in the top (weakest) mounting hole <arrow>.
NOTE
Left side shown, procedure for right side is similar.
Reinstall carpet:
• Reinstall carpet <1>, ensuring it is correctly seated behind the trunk seal <2>.
• Close trunk lid.
