Summary
This technical service bulletin instructs the reader to replace the refrigerant hose for air conditioning that won’t cool.

Vehicle
MAKE | MODEL | YEAR |
AUDI | Q3 | 2015-2017 |
Customer states:
- The air conditioning does not cool.
Workshop findings:
No DTCs are stored in the heating and air conditioning electronics control module, J255 (address word 0008).
Technical Background
The technical diagnosis reveals that there is no refrigerant in the circuit. The refrigerant hose that connects the suction side of the compressor to the condenser is found to be damaged, as the rubber portion of the hose is making contact with the compressor pulley (Figure 1 and Figure 2).
A production issue with the assembly gauge used during assembly of the hose was found. This issue caused the
hose to be assembled with an incorrect geometry. As a result, the lie intended to keep the hose away from the air conditioning compressor pulley was compromised.
Production Solution
The refrigerant hose assembly gauge was corrected in production.
Service
Replace the damaged refrigerant hose and ensure that the natural lie of the hose is away from the air conditioning compressor pulley. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant circuit and replace any lost PAG oil that may have been discharged from the system. Failure to maintain the correct total amount of PAG oil in the circuit will lead to premature air conditioning compressor failure.

- UNABLE TO SHIP THIS ITEM TO CALIFORNIA and WASHINGTON
- Replaces lost R-134a refrigerant and oil in automotive A/C system to protect and extend system life
- Comes with reusable extra-long braided charging hose and large gauge with trigger dispenser for easy, convenient, and accurate recharging
- Formula with 2X cooling boosters vs the next leading brand of A/C recharge kits: independently tested to deliver the coldest air from your vehicle's A/C
- Contains R-134a gas which is acceptable for use in motor vehicle A/C (MVAC) systems
- UNABLE TO SHIP THIS ITEM TO CALIFORNIA and WASHINGTON
- All in one solution to restore lost refrigerant and oil in automotive air conditioning systems
- Contains system safe leak sealer additive that seals common A/C leaks in rubber hoses, gaskets and O-rings
- Built in disposable recharge hose
- No tools required
- For use in factory installed and/or retrofitted R-134a auto A/C systems.
- Comes with standard ACME threaded cap.
- Meets AHRI 700-2006 and SAE J 2276 purity standards.
- UNIVERSAL - ZeroR AC Refrigerant is a hydrocarbon that safely bonds with chemicals like R134a, R1234YF and R12. We can only advertise this product to be used in R134a systems due to EPA regulations in the USA on both R12 and R1234YF systems. EPA also prohibits mixing refrigerant types. See the description for all legal disclaimers.
- EASY - This product installs just as easily as any R134a products. Cans even have R134a threads and the majority of R134a can taps will work for these cans.
- 6oz CANS - Refrigerants are compressed gasses and are measured by weight, not by liquid volume such as water. All gasses compress differently and produce a different weight. ZeroR AC Refrigerant is low weight compared to R134a, but its performance is equal to 16oz of R134a.
- ECO FRIENDLY – ZeroR AC Refrigerant is a 100% Natural gas unlike R134a, R1234yf and R12.
- SAFE – ZeroR AC Refrigerant has a class 2.1 flammability rating just like the new R1234YF which is now used in 100% of newly manufactured vehicles. Under normal operating conditions this product presents no danger to its users when handled properly and used in systems approved for flammable refrigerants.
- Replaces lost R-134a refrigerant and oil in automotive A/C system
- System safe stop leak sealer stops most common A/C leaks with hoses, gaskets and O-Rings
- Special anti-wear additives extend system life and improve performance
- Contains R-134a gas which is acceptable for use in motor vehicle A/C (MVAC) systems
- Complies with Section 612 of the EPA Clean Air Act, EPA Compliant in Self Sealing Cans
- Freon(TM) 134a plus UV leak detector helps save mobile AC professionals time and money by combining the application of UV and refrigerant into one step to identify hard-to-find R-134a refrigerant leaks!
- Freon(TM) 134a UV is MADE IN THE USA and contains a high-technology dye formulation that meets the stringent requirements of SAE J2297 and AHRI700. The dye has been approved and used by OEMs, dealer service networks, and independent service shops for years.
- Add Freon(TM) 134a UV to a mobile AC system that does not contain any dye, start up the compressor, and let the dye do the work for you. The dye mixes with the lubricant and is quickly distributed through the system and helps to identify the R-134a leak in no time!
